ICPC BBQ

Sunday 6th July we held our 3rd annual BBQ at the goat farm in Nieuwendijk. We were lucky with the weather and although we didn’t have 100% sunshine we had pleasant warm weather and no rain.

The children were busy the whole afternoon. The goats provided quite some amusement, especially for the toddlers, whilst the bigger children played water race games and had balloon bursting competitions.

There was face painting for all ages and during the afternoon children were running around with vibrantly painted faces thanks to the creative talents of one of our mums.

Some of the older boys and one father devised their own game of kicking a ball over the farm buildings, which proved to be quite a challenge, however the farmer’s wife quietly advised them that this may not be appreciated by all of the animals.

Even the parents participated in the games, and our games mistress tested our agility with a pre BBQ game of Twister. As usual the men congregated around the BBQ coals and honed their culinary skills. We had lots of delicious food and salads.

Everybody enjoyed the day out especially the children who just loved the freedom to run around playing and interacting with the other kids. Hopefully next year we will have fewer uninvited guests at our venue (the flies !).
