Pancake day

Although children in Holland tend to eat pancakes on a fairly regular basis, they still seem to enjoy getting together for a "pancake party" in honour of Pancake Day! Four families got together and we cooked pancakes for everyone - mostly plain ones, but a few of the Mummies enjoyed the addition of some mushrooms & bacon! While the kids heaped sugar, "stroop" and chocolate onto their pancakes, some of us borrowed maple syrup. The kids were ravenous to start with, but eventually they slowed down and allowed the Mums to eat a few pancakes as well. Afterwards the kids all played together until it was time to go home.
