THE LITTLE MERMAID

On Sunday 18th January we went all the way to Antwerp to see a performance of the The Little Mermaid given by the amateur drama group BATS. It was a matinee and the hall was packed with children.

You could tell that most of them were experienced panto visitors as they knew exactly when to hiss, boo and cheer at the right moments.

Well some didn’t actually, which sent out ripples of giggling particularly by their parents, but audience participation was great.

The children and grown ups were treated to sweats which were sent flying through the air into the audience by several characters and we participated in a sing along.

and the highlight must have been when the children were invited to come up on stage to do some more singing!

One of the children is still singing a tune he heard from the panto and some girls are very much into mermaids at the moment .. .. guess what they want to be dressed up in for Carnival!
