Family day at Wamelland
(Family event ), (23/11/2003)

At 10.30 hrs. we were the first ones to arrive at Wamelland. Soon everyone had arrived and there were children everywhere.

At first our son was careful, but as soon as he saw other, older children do more difficult things, he started to experiment on how to get down the "bumpy slide".

Pretty soon several Dads were spotted in the "ballenbak" having a ball fight. Apparently the "ballenbak’" also has a relaxing effect, I was told - after the ball fight they just laid there.

Many of the Moms and Dads accompanied their children climbing up, down and around the plastic jungle and had a lot of fun themselves.

I enjoyed myself watching all the kids having so much fun. Also because the children kept busy themselves, there was enough time to have nice conversations with other people in the club. Something we hadn’t had a chance to do much of before.

For lunch all the children sat at a long table enjoying French fries, a pancake or "poffertjes" and suddenly 2 "Zwarte Pieten" came in, giving out pepernoten and candy. They ended up playing with all the children, and stayed for the rest of the afternoon

Just after lunch our son had a little dip, but after sitting with us for a little while he was recharged enough for a second wave. We ended up leaving around 15.00 hrs.

To be short, it was a great day! Thanks for organising this outing.
